Topical thought for July

I sit on a bench by the side of the sea: in front of me on the pavement, pass so many people, some elderly moving slowly others much younger with a spring in their step, mothers with either small children or babies in pushchairs.

I sit on a bench by the side of the sea: in front of me on the pavement, pass so many people, some elderly moving slowly others much younger with a spring in their step, mothers with either small children or babies in pushchairs. All races, all colours, some look happy some worried and I sit there wondering just what is going through their minds. What I would like to do is shout out, Jesus has died for you! He has made it possible for you to escape the inevitability of death, he is coming back to show us all how to live at peace with one another! But I stay silent, I say nothing, just let them all pass by; am I a coward or do I just fear being laughed at just as people laughed at Jesus before they hung him on the cross.
