Looking Forward

Normally in December we are looking forward to Christmas and to spending time with our family and friends, banishing the darkness of this winter month.

2020, however, has been a challenge to everything that we think of as normal, resulting in it becoming increasingly difficult to look forward or plan with any certainty.  Despite the uncertainties of the times, it doesn’t prevent us from being able to look forward to the bright future that is promised with certainty in the Bible.  A future when the Lord Jesus, who’s birth story is woven indelibly into all our Christmas celebrations, will return to this earth as ruler and king.  When the words in Revelation (11: 15-17), that George Frederick Handel set so skilfully to music in the rousing ‘Hallelujah Chorus’ will come to light “And he will reign forever and ever….”

Looking forward to this:

The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever…”

We give thanks to you Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.”
